Abby & Aaron said:

“June 13th, 2014 (Friday the 13th) was our first date, two weeks after meeting while doing summer stock theatre in the Berkshires. Aaron knew the moment we met that there was something there, though Abby needed the two weeks. It took a friend making excuses to get Abby and Aaron to talk alone did we finally start to talk! We bonded over our love of theatre and Abby was intrigued at Aaron’s love of horror (now a shared interest!). At the end of the summer, Aaron went back to New York, and Abby went back to Connecticut, and we did long distance for a year-and-a-half, until Abby made the move to New York. On Christmas Eve of 2018, we got engaged, and in 2019 we moved to Los Angeles together with our girls (our dog, Lady, and our cat, Ernestine) to start a new chapter. Huge thanks again to Kathy flying to CA to do a beautiful beach engagement shoot, all while holding onto our nervous rescue dog! (sidenote from Kathy: WE LOVE DESTINATION SESSIONS & WEDDINGS!) ”June 13th, 2020 was going to be our wedding at the Mystic Aquarium, where we’d had one of our first dates after our summer in the Berkshires…but the pandemic meant we had to postpone it. We couldn’t wait any longer to get married, though, so we got our license in Orange County and had a 5-person and 3-dog Covid-safe ceremony in our friend’s backyard in Los Angeles, with our families watching on Zoom. We will truly cherish our quiet wedding day, ended by a walk around the neighborhood and takeout. Most of the first year of marriage was spent alone in our apartment with each other (thankful for the dog that got us outside everyday)! It was an interesting and tough first year of marriage, but we realized that we can face a lot together!

”June 13th, 2021, though it was technically our 1-year vow renewal, we finally had the wedding we’d been planning, surrounded by (vaccinated!) family and friends. We knew we also wanted a causal, fun, slightly quirky wedding and we got that! Kathy did an amazing job jumping into action during our first look. At the drawbridge in Mystic, we all ran into place just as the bridge was closing and got a chance to do unique first look photos! Kathy is such an adventurous photographer. Our ceremony was special as the beluga whales needed to be a part of the ceremony, officiated by our friend who is a professional mime who started the night on such a comical note! We sprinkled personal touches throughout the evening, such as hand painted “books” that each told a special part of our history together. The night ended way too quickly for us, we wish we could have had more time amongst our friends, family, and of course all of the sea creatures. It was a very special night that we will always remember! (sidenote from Kathy: sometimes the spontaneous moments at a wedding make the best memories!)
