Vito's On the Farm Wedding | Connecticut Wedding Photographers

Wendy & Matt's wedding was our first time photographing at Vito's On The Farm, and I couldn't be happier with our experience there. We worked alongside Ally, who is the wedding coordinator, but also has a special connection to Vito's and the venue itself. Today we're highlighting this venue, and what better way than to hear directly from Ally...

"Our family farm on Rye Street has been operational since 1948. My grandmother Ann Maffucci, moved there in her teens, from Front Street in Hartford, along with her parents, Zena and Florido Iudica. At that time, the farm provided 26 wide acres to explore and raise animals, along with several large barns housing nearly 10,000 chickens. Fast forward to the early 90’s, the farm has been shared with and passed down to the 2nd generation Maffucci family. Current residents of the farm are my Aunt Carol & Uncle Jon Bonds.
We christened the farm with events, with our wedding, back in September 2014, and realized what a perfect venue this location provided. Not only is the landscape beautiful and well-maintained, by the Carol & Jon, and my Grandfather, Vito Maffucci, but the location is central to both interstate highways, and the heart of South Windsor is less than 10 minutes away.

Our family farm provides a different experience than our other restaurants in Hartford and Windsor, because our family roots are there. We have all grown up on the farm, we have helped pick tomatoes on the hot summer day, we have learned how to cut basil so it shoots right back up, and we have learned how to incorporate the Vito’s Restaurant Group brand, at our farm.

This location is a brand new venture, we are the perfect location for wine dinners, farm to table dinners, weddings, and corporate retreats. We are operational May 15th-October 15th, and we incorporate any and all produce grown at our farm to our events. Vito’s puts only the best ingredients on the menu here, and we know brides and grooms that select us for there venue are ‘foodies’ who expect nothing less than exceptional food and a great atmosphere. Our goal is to share our family farm with couples and companies that want to have the best day possible, starting with a romantic ceremony near the gardens, moving to a breezy cocktail reception with tasty appetizers, through dinner service, with custom menus, suited to best match the couples tastes, and finishing the night with a great dance party including everyone on the dance floor and soaking in the best moments of their lives yet.

Our family loves two things most; feeding people excellent food, and treating others like family. The farm best allows us to do that by it’s location and spaciousness, and with of our decades of experience, we know the best way to serve couples and provide for them everything they desire, starting with the initial tour, to picking the menu, and finally when the big day arrives, making sure the atmosphere is fun, and ready to party! We welcome the bride and groom to customize as much or as little of the day as they wish. Our goal is to please you and to also get to know you, and help you make the best memories on the best day of your lives yet. Currently we have 1 spot open for the 2018 season, call for your tour today ☺  860-205-0079"

Connecticut Wedding Photographers | Wedding at The Publick House

Julie and Jerry's wedding this past Friday at The Publick House was filled with love, laughter, and a crazy downpour during the bridal party formals. If you haven't been to The Publick House lately, I suggest making a trip up to Sturbridge, MA this summer and checking out their pastry shoppe and restaurant. It is a beautiful and quaint historic inn with a ton of charm, making the perfect backdrop for beautiful wedding photos.

The bride got ready in the Chamberlain House, where we were greeted by a vaulted ceiling complete with full chandelier. Her traveling makeup artist, Katie from KiSSandMaKeUp in Connecticut drove to Sturbridge, as well. Julie's first look with her dad was beyond sweet, and I was waiting for tears to fall during her and Jerry's first touch just outside of the barn.

First touch is for those couples who have extra time built into their timeline for a quick moment together before the ceremony, but who do not want to actually see each other beforehand. These two held hands around one of the barn doors, where they got to share their nervousness and excitement before walking down the aisle.

After saying their, "I Do's" and beginning group photos there was a little sprinkle of rain. Not a moment later it was a FULL DOWNPOUR, sending everyone running back to the tent. We captured a few portraits of Julie and Jerry around the venue before heading in to their tented reception.

I could not be happier for these two, and send my best wishes for a long and happy marriage together! May you always be surrounded by loving friends/family and remember to smile through the rain.
