Ahhhhhh, I am so seriously excited for these two! When Guarav first contacted me, I had no idea that this session would end like it did. I don’t want to ruin the surprise too much…but THEY GOT ENGAGED DURING THE SESSION! It was incredibly sweet and perfect with that feeling where you just can’t wait to tell the world (which I did, as soon as I saw a colleague photographing a wedding at the park!!!) These moments are so incredibly precious and I hope to photograph many more proposals. Congratulations, you two - I hope you remember that day forever!
Victoria & Mark's engagement session at Harkness Memorial State Park was lighthearted and fun, with a little bit of adventure mixed in. I love a good rock skipping session, and that little peninsula made for some beautiful reflection shots! Here are a few favorite highlights from this springtime session...
Here are some of our favorite photographs that highlight Vickie & John's springtime wedding at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Their ceremony at The Simsbury Inn was full of music and laughter, making for a perfect celebration for their closest friends and family.

I cannot even put into words how much fun we've been having with our engagement sessions lately. Jillian & Jeff's session at Eolia Mansion in Harkness Memorial State Park was no exception, and we're so seriously excited to be their wedding photographers next summer! Here are some highlights from this lighthearted and fun engagement session.
Here are some of our favorite moments and wedding inspiration (details) from Amanda & Bradley's wedding reception at The Palace Theater in Waterbury, CT. We had so much fun photographing this Gatsby-inspired night, and love these two! XOXO
This winter wedding at Aria had the perfect amount of snow, giving it that little bit of extra magic. Stephenie's uncle designed and baked her cake, and her reaction was priceless upon seeing it for the first time. I truly love when our couples include friends and family in pieces of their day, and Kevin's coworker was their D.J. for the evening, too! As always, Aria looked gorgeous, decked out in beautiful lanterns and candlelight. We are so happy for these two, and cannot wait to design their wedding album!
This wedding at Mystic Aquarium has to be one of my all-time favorites, due to the sheer fun factor of the venue and this particular couple! I mean, for reallllll...a Beluga Whale who splashes the bridal party?! Pretty sure you're going to love their story as much as I do. Huge thanks to my second shooter for the day, Jesse from On Point Images.
How we Met: "We were in geography club together in college and found a common love of Doctor Who and travel. We very quickly bonded and have been best friends ever since!"
The Proposal: "It was a massive surprise! We were on a trip to Disney World and it turns out he was plotting this entire thing for months before hand without me knowing! We were at Magic Kingdom and he pulled us (myself and his two friends WHO WERE ALSO in on it) over to Cinderella's wishing well next to the castle. He gave me a coin and told me to turn around and make a wish. I closed my eyes and threw the coin over my shoulder into the well and when I opened my eyes he was down on one knee! I was BEYOND shocked. I think I just stood there in shock for a few seconds before I said YES!"
Venue: "We choose Mystic Aquarium for the venue because we have a mutual love for the ocean and specifically conservation. Mystic is a conservation driven institution so naturally it was our first choice. We wanted to be able to share with everyone we love the amazing things Mystic Aquarium does!"
Details: "Our THEME if we had to choose was sustainability/ethics. We both have a lot of background in both and for us this being central to our wedding was of the greatest importance. My engagement ring is made of recycled metal and ethically sourced/ fair trade gemstones. Our wedding rings are made of recycled metal and resemble birch bark, a tribute to our favorite country, and where we someday hope to live, Iceland. Our flowers were exclusively things that were grown LOCALLY IN SEASON (not imported from other countries). Our outfits for the wedding were both handcrafted in Vermont by Tara Lynn (Tara Lynn Bridal) made of sustainable hemp, cotton, and silk fabrics. We also made the very deliberate choice of using TOMS shoes for ourselves (and my bridesmaids) because the shoes are ethically produced and for each pair purchased TOMS donates a pair to someone in need of shoes! Of course to explain my shoes (the bees), I have an undying love for bees, I would love to someday have my own hives. They are fantastic little producers and I do everything in my power to teach people what incredible insects they are!"

My first wedding in Ellington, CT!!!!! I was so excited to photograph Jessica & Eric's wedding because Ellington is my hometown. This was a beautiful backyard tented wedding at Jessica's parents' home, overlooking the town from the hill. Seriously - the view was a stunner. For those of you familiar with town, we were close to the Ellington Airport and could see much of "downtown".
Jessica's gown had delicate lace and beading, and her reception dress was perfect for both dancing and mingling. It had hints of blush pink, matching her bridal party perfectly. We photographed their outdoor wedding ceremony along benches overlooking the view, where they performed a sand ceremony that included Jessica's daughter. It was such a sweet moment and one of those emotion-filled portions of the day that we love capturing.
Between the bridal party portraits and the tented candlelit reception, there was no shortage of fun moments, but my favorite was probably The Cupcake Bug! Luann's Bakery in Ellington, CT provided the cake and desserts for the wedding, sending the cupcakes in a VW Bug during the reception.
Thank you for choosing us as your wedding photographers! We had fun with you two and your entire day was absolutely wonderful! XOXO, Kathy

Sarah & Nick's wedding was one of those days where everything just goes perfectly. They chose to do a "first touch" before the wedding ceremony and exchanged handwritten letters with one another, in lieu of a first look. The grounds at The Waterview were a gorgeous backdrop for their ceremony and their ballroom provided a mix of elegance and whimsy through the floral design. It was easy to find little touches of their personalities and their relationship together, but my favorite has to be the LEGO bride and groom in front of their cake! We ended the night with a few night photos outside near the fountain before saying goodnight. XOXO, Sarah & Nick! We are so happy for you both and hope you are able to reminisce over your day and remember all of the moments that made it truly yours!

I fell in love with this couple's story from the first time we talked over the phone about their wedding plans. High school sweethearts...awwwww! We met for the first time when I photographed their engagement session at Gouveia Vineyards, and they were so sweet together.
Here is their story: "Scott and I started dating in high school. Throughout the next 12 years (yup…12 years), we grew together as a couple, but always respected each other's differences. Scott has a tremendous love for cars while I enjoy shopping, photography, and keeping our life organized through check lists and spreadsheets.
After more than 10 years of dating, Scott finally proposed to me on November 6th of 2015 with a custom fortune cookie along with a gorgeous custom engagement ring! I was so overwhelmed with happiness that I could not stop crying, but through a stream of joyful tears I said YES!
When we started planning our wedding, it was so much fun! We would always find an excuse to go out for dinner and drinks. I did the bulk of the planning, but Scott was always there to help me make the final decisions and give his input on everything. I loved it when he would come home excited with a new idea for the wedding!
July 22nd was our wedding day, and it was absolutely perfect! The entire day we were surrounded by people who loved us! While getting ready, I was calm and beyond excited to see my future husband during our first look. However, when it came to our ceremony I could barely walk while trying so hard to control my emotions and keep the tears away. There was something about the combination of music, having my father walk me down the aisle, and knowing Scott was waiting at the end that made that particular moment so pure and full of emotion. Our wedding day would not have been complete without personal touches: we wrote our own vows that we read to each other in front of everyone, guest favors came from our favorite coffee shop, and of course we had custom fortune cookies for all of our guests to enjoy! The day was full of emotions…love, joy, laughter, and lots of dancing! And even though it was over in the blink of an eye, we will always have the memories, stories, and photographs of our special day!"
Future couples, take note - these guys had a first look and STILL had an amazing walk down the aisle (see above). I see this happen at many weddings with a first look, but I'm so happy to hear from one of our brides because she described it perfectly.

We're so in love with this beautiful wedding. SO. IN. LOVE. Erin & Ryan began their day with a first look at the carousel in Lighthouse Point Park, followed by group photos before the ceremony. Brides...this is the best way possible to spend the day with your guests and attend your own cocktail hour! Personally, I love the private moments and the authentic & emotional reactions of our couples. With just the two of them, they're able to relax and really enjoy the moment that they first see each other. The nervousness turns into excitement as soon as they see each other, and they're able to spend more time together on their wedding day. What's not to love about that?! There was no shortage of laughter during the ceremony - one of the things we love most about candid wedding photos. When you look back on your wedding photos, as you will countless times throughout your life, we want you to remember exactly how you felt at that moment. The moment you say, "I Do" is a mixture of love, excitement, wonder...happiness.
When you take a look at these photographs and see this venue all decked out, you'll probably wonder about how it all came together. Who created the floral design? Who set up the tables and coordinated the day? Who entertained the guests with music throughout the night, and WHERE did that Italian ice come from?!
Let me introduce Lisa DiBenedetto, the owner of Nightingale Events. We've worked with Lisa many times for weddings across New England that she and her team have coordinated.
A note from Lisa:
"Erin & Ryan's wedding was one for the books! I waited all year for it and so happy that my team and I could take part. From the first time we spoke I immediately felt a connection with them and all their ideas were music to my ears! Getting married at Lighthouse Point is already a fun place to be. Sabrina, the manager there, is a dream to work with at events. She's straightforward and happy to answer questions and have your team help you if you're in a pinch. Erin wanted certain vendors for her big day to make it a one-of-a-kind experience for her guests and we were happy to make recommendations! The steel drum band - Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum band had all the guests swaying along during cocktail hour when they weren't enjoying "Chloe" the VW Van Photo Booth! Fitzgerald catering is one of our favorites to work with because their salmon ceviche is mouth-watering! [Side note - their buffalo chicken bites were crazy good, too!] During the reception guests enjoyed Italian ice from Chet's Italian Ice and AMAZING cupcakes from J Cakes! The décor was one of a kind including a record player card box made by the father of the bride, concert tickets as escort cards and album covers on each table from the concerts Ryan & Erin have enjoyed together through their relationship. Lastly, Erin was the most calm bride I have ever met! She was relaxed and enjoyed time with friends and family, even with rain in the forecast. The smile on her face as she walked down the aisle was evident of pure happiness and love. XOXO, Lisa"
