Winter Wedding at The Society Room | Connecticut Wedding Photographers

The couple’s story: Joe and Jackie met online. Joe asked Jackie out to happy hour at a little restaurant called Salute in downtown Hartford. Happy hour turned into closing down the bars on a Wednesday night, to then finding out that Jackie's car was locked in a parking garage at 2 AM. Joe, being the gentleman that he is, offered to give Jackie a ride home in the opposite direction of where he lived. The next morning, Joe picked Jackie up before work to bring her downtown to get her car. They immediately starting planning their second date, and from there were inseparable. Love at first sight was not something either of them believed in until they met each other. Jackie and Joe both knew they were meant for each other from the very start. Jackie even texted her best friend (and Maid of Honor) the very next day saying "I really think I'm going to end up marrying this guy."

Fast forward to the proposal, Joe and I had a trip planned to Maine last summer to visit his family for the week of July 4th. On our second day there Joe and I walked out to the end of the dock at his parent's lake house and he proposed. I was in so much shock, and when I turned around everyone was standing there watching us and he even flew my parents up there to witness the whole thing. It ended up being much more than just the 4th of July trip I was expecting.

Griswold Point Tented Wedding in Old Lyme | Connecticut Wedding Photographers

Luke and I met the summer before our junior year of college at the Connecticut Fire Academy where we became certified interior firefighters after many years with our local town departments. After many ice cream dates and wake boarding trips we decided to make long distance work through college, then moved across the country to Arizona together to start our careers.

Now in Virginia, we admittedly enjoy our time together the most when we’re hiking, hunting, and playing with our Labrador, Sophie. Luke proposed at my family's home in Weekapaug, RI with my family and our dog present to celebrate our excitement together. I love that Luke can make me laugh no matter my mood and our similar devotion to our families and the outdoors.

When we were planning our wedding back in Connecticut, we wanted to make our special day feel like it involved all of the things we hold closest to our hearts, namely home. Our venue, caterer, florist and of course photographer were all friends or family that we felt tied to as we became immersed in planning this special event.

Winter Ballroom Wedding at Aria | Prospect, Connecticut Wedding Photographers

This winter wedding at Aria had the perfect amount of snow, giving it that little bit of extra magic. Stephenie's uncle designed and baked her cake, and her reaction was priceless upon seeing it for the first time. I truly love when our couples include friends and family in pieces of their day, and Kevin's coworker was their D.J. for the evening, too! As always, Aria looked gorgeous, decked out in beautiful lanterns and candlelight. We are so happy for these two, and cannot wait to design their wedding album!

Vito's On the Farm Wedding | Connecticut Wedding Photographers

Wendy & Matt's wedding was our first time photographing at Vito's On The Farm, and I couldn't be happier with our experience there. We worked alongside Ally, who is the wedding coordinator, but also has a special connection to Vito's and the venue itself. Today we're highlighting this venue, and what better way than to hear directly from Ally...

"Our family farm on Rye Street has been operational since 1948. My grandmother Ann Maffucci, moved there in her teens, from Front Street in Hartford, along with her parents, Zena and Florido Iudica. At that time, the farm provided 26 wide acres to explore and raise animals, along with several large barns housing nearly 10,000 chickens. Fast forward to the early 90’s, the farm has been shared with and passed down to the 2nd generation Maffucci family. Current residents of the farm are my Aunt Carol & Uncle Jon Bonds.
We christened the farm with events, with our wedding, back in September 2014, and realized what a perfect venue this location provided. Not only is the landscape beautiful and well-maintained, by the Carol & Jon, and my Grandfather, Vito Maffucci, but the location is central to both interstate highways, and the heart of South Windsor is less than 10 minutes away.

Our family farm provides a different experience than our other restaurants in Hartford and Windsor, because our family roots are there. We have all grown up on the farm, we have helped pick tomatoes on the hot summer day, we have learned how to cut basil so it shoots right back up, and we have learned how to incorporate the Vito’s Restaurant Group brand, at our farm.

This location is a brand new venture, we are the perfect location for wine dinners, farm to table dinners, weddings, and corporate retreats. We are operational May 15th-October 15th, and we incorporate any and all produce grown at our farm to our events. Vito’s puts only the best ingredients on the menu here, and we know brides and grooms that select us for there venue are ‘foodies’ who expect nothing less than exceptional food and a great atmosphere. Our goal is to share our family farm with couples and companies that want to have the best day possible, starting with a romantic ceremony near the gardens, moving to a breezy cocktail reception with tasty appetizers, through dinner service, with custom menus, suited to best match the couples tastes, and finishing the night with a great dance party including everyone on the dance floor and soaking in the best moments of their lives yet.

Our family loves two things most; feeding people excellent food, and treating others like family. The farm best allows us to do that by it’s location and spaciousness, and with of our decades of experience, we know the best way to serve couples and provide for them everything they desire, starting with the initial tour, to picking the menu, and finally when the big day arrives, making sure the atmosphere is fun, and ready to party! We welcome the bride and groom to customize as much or as little of the day as they wish. Our goal is to please you and to also get to know you, and help you make the best memories on the best day of your lives yet. Currently we have 1 spot open for the 2018 season, call for your tour today ☺  860-205-0079"

Lighthouse Point Park Wedding | Connecticut Wedding Photographers

We're so in love with this beautiful wedding. SO. IN. LOVE. Erin & Ryan began their day with a first look at the carousel in Lighthouse Point Park, followed by group photos before the ceremony. Brides...this is the best way possible to spend the day with your guests and attend your own cocktail hour! Personally, I love the private moments and the authentic & emotional reactions of our couples. With just the two of them, they're able to relax and really enjoy the moment that they first see each other. The nervousness turns into excitement as soon as they see each other, and they're able to spend more time together on their wedding day. What's not to love about that?! There was no shortage of laughter during the ceremony - one of the things we love most about candid wedding photos. When you look back on your wedding photos, as you will countless times throughout your life, we want you to remember exactly how you felt at that moment. The moment you say, "I Do" is a mixture of love, excitement, wonder...happiness.

When you take a look at these photographs and see this venue all decked out, you'll probably wonder about how it all came together. Who created the floral design? Who set up the tables and coordinated the day? Who entertained the guests with music throughout the night, and WHERE did that Italian ice come from?!

Let me introduce Lisa DiBenedetto, the owner of Nightingale Events. We've worked with Lisa many times for weddings across New England that she and her team have coordinated.

A note from Lisa:
"Erin & Ryan's wedding was one for the books!  I waited all year for it and so happy that my team and I could take part. From the first time we spoke I immediately felt a connection with them and all their ideas were music to my ears! Getting married at Lighthouse Point is already a fun place to be.  Sabrina, the manager there, is a dream to work with at events. She's straightforward and happy to answer questions and have your team help you if you're in a pinch. Erin wanted certain vendors for her big day to make it a one-of-a-kind experience for her guests and we were happy to make recommendations!  The steel drum band - Caribbean Vibe Steel Drum band had all the guests swaying along during cocktail hour when they weren't enjoying "Chloe" the VW Van Photo Booth!  Fitzgerald catering is one of our favorites to work with because their salmon ceviche is mouth-watering! [Side note - their buffalo chicken bites were crazy good, too!] During the reception guests enjoyed Italian ice from Chet's Italian Ice and AMAZING cupcakes from J Cakes!  The décor was one of a kind including a record player card box made by the father of the bride, concert tickets as escort cards and album covers on each table from the concerts Ryan & Erin have enjoyed together through their relationship. Lastly, Erin was the most calm bride I have ever met!  She was relaxed and enjoyed time with friends and family, even with rain in the forecast. The smile on her face as she walked down the aisle was evident of pure happiness and love. XOXO, Lisa"

RIVERHOUSE AT GOODSPEED STATION | CT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

Ashley and Kevin were married this weekend at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station, a great wedding staple in CT offering brides beautiful facilities close to the river for gorgeous photos!  With help from their family, Ashley and Kevin planned their gorgeous wedding from a distance.  A lot of our couples are from out of state and we try to make it as easy for them as possible.  Emails and phone calls made for easy planning and their day went perfectly!

We are so honored to have been a part of your day. Congratulations you two!

RIVERHOUSE AT GOODSPEED WEDDING | CT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

Marisa & Tony were married on Saturday at The Riverhouse at Godspeed.   I always love a great day wedding,  especially when surrounded by such a wonderful group of the couple's family and friends.  There was a lot of laughter, emotion and beauty, all on a sunny afternoon!

Congratulations Marisa & Tony!  I can't wait to go through all of your photos!

HILL-STEAD MUSEUM WEDDING | CT Wedding Photographers

Getting to know Kate and Dan has been a wonderful treat.  We really got to know each other during their engagement session in Savannah, GA.  Funny enough, it was freezing during their engagement session.  But their wedding was perfect, warm with a light cooling drizzle during their ceremony.  Dan is really into photography as well and when I mentioned my idea for a night shot and said it would be even better with rain, he started wishing for rain...ON THEIR WEDDING DAY!  And at the perfect time in the evening, it did.  They took a moment to themselves and we had a great time in the rain.

Connecticut Wedding Photographers | Simsbury CT Engagement Session

Late spring to early summer is always one of my favorite seasons of the year. School is letting out (former teacher here, hahaha), everything is in bloom, and the weather is just about perfect! I met Kerry & Adam for their engagement session on Tuesday, and we hung out on the bridge for their photos. If you haven't been to the Drake Hill Flower Bridge, I suggest checking it out this summer then stopping in for a wine tasting at Rosedale Vineyards just down the road! We've photographed here many times before for weddings at the Riverview in Simsbury as well as Simsbury Inn weddings, and it never disappoints.

I'm so happy for these guys, and we're excited to photograph their upcoming wedding!

NEW YEAR'S EVE WEDDING | CONNECTICUT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS

Is there a better way to end a year than to marry your favorite person with all of your friends and family to celebrate with you?  Katie and Greg could not have asked for a better day.  They started their day with a first look at Hartford City Hall, which always provides a breathtaking backdrop.  Then we headed to the Marriott for their ceremony and reception.  Katie and Greg met in theater, so they had to incorporate that aspect of their life in the reception.  They may have had the best entrance video I have ever seen, it was a "Modern Family" style look at the planning process of their wedding, trust us, it was ah-mazing!  The party didn't stop there until the midnight countdown, Katie and Greg even had to have a toga party.  Yup, think "Animal House" TOGA's!

They really had such a fun and happy wedding day with some great vendors by their side!

The Lace Factory Wedding | Connecticut Wedding Photographers

Jen & John's wedding at The Lace Factory in Deep River, CT was filled with lots of soft and pretty details, an insanely fun bridal party, and a ceremony overlooking the water. The couple chose to get ready at The Inn at Middletown, along Main Street in Middletown, CT. Jen gifted her bridesmaids their customized calligraphy dress hangers and monogrammed clutches, and John's guys got engraved bottle openers.

You can't go wrong with the prettiness of gold and blush, and this wedding was no exception. The bridesmaids wore gold dresses, which were a compliment to the gold tones at the wedding reception, and the floral centerpieces added just enough color to the otherwise white color palette of the room.

LaBelle Winery Wedding - NH Wedding Photographers

Liz and Ben's wedding at LaBelle Winery in Amherst, NH was filled with laughter and love. Liz's dress was stunning, paired with Badgley Mischka shoes, soft veil and jeweled belt. As always, Naomi's Studio & Salon's airbrushed makeup was flawless and Liz's eyes were A-M-AZING! Her sister teared up about a million times while helping her get ready, but was quick to hide it. Such a sweet moment between the two of them. Ben's note to Liz on her wedding day shoes was a complete surprise and the perfect sweet sentiment. Getting ready in Nashua, they traveled to LaBelle via limousine for first look at the vineyard.

How seriously cute is this first look?!?! Liz and Ben wrote each other letters to share privately, and read them with tears in their eyes. Cutest. Thing. Ever.

Their bridal party was laid-back and fun, which made for some great candids in addition to full group photos. We always have two photographers at every wedding with the hopes to capture moments like this!

Liz & Ben said, "I do" overlooking the vineyard, in an intimate ceremony performed by officiant Paul Calabria, and they could barely stop smiling at each other once he pronounced them husband and wife. Not going to lie, I was a little, "awwwwwwww" at that.

The wedding reception at LaBelle winery wouldn't have been complete without a trip down to the wine cellar or five cakes. Yes - they had five delicious cakes by Frederick's Pastries for guests to choose from, and a tiered cake for cutting.

So many beautiful moments in this classic and timeless wedding.

Sarah & Brian's Ogunquit, Maine Engagement Session

It was one of those absolutely gorgeous end-of-summer days on the beach in Ogunquit, Maine. Sarah suggested Ogunquit for her session, as she loves it there and has visited many times. I hadn't been there since I was young and immediately got excited for the trip! Before the session, I spent the day walking the Marginal Way, walking with a cone of black raspberry chocolate chip frozen yogurt, exploring the beach, lunching at Cornerstone's with lobster mac & cheese and pineapple craft beer, and relaxing. We met up with Sarah & Brian to explore along the beach once the tide went out, for the perfect backdrop for their session.

Special thanks to Pam from KiSSandMaKeUp for Sarah's makeup!
