A PERFECT FAMILY PORTRAIT/MOMENT? | CONNECTICUT PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS

Everyone wants that perfect family portrait.  The one with the perfect smiles on everyone's face with everyone looking into the camera at the same time while wearing their perfectly picked out, color-coordinated outfits.  It's beautiful. I personally can't wait to get mine taken this summer.  However, years down the road, you may or may not look at that perfect photo and remember the stress it brought on.  You know, finding an amazing outfit for one of the kids and trying to find something just as amazing for your other kids.    And of course, the  tantrums that occurred when you tried to put on said perfect outfit before the session in hopes nothing will be spilled in that 10 minutes between then and the start of the session, because you know that they will find that muddy area in the park or that old BBQ sauce that was left in the car the last time you got them chicken nuggets at Mickey D's (I may be speaking from experience). And lastly, the moving around of nap and bed times to accommodate the perfect light and hoping that portrait day will be the most amazing Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter day.

Again, I can't wait to get mine done this summer.

What about the moments that happen organically?  The everyday moments you want to remember years from now.  The differences in personalities from one kid to another or the silliness that comes out when parents are around their kids?  The more lifestyle, behind-the-scenes moments.  These are the moments you never want to forget.

I recently had the chance to hang out with this sweet family at the studio.  They brought some of their personal items from home and just hung out...read books, played with toys, jumped on the bed, pretty much all of the things they would do at home. It was so much fun and I just love how their personalities came through.

I can't wait to do more of these sessions and capture those perfect moments.  I'm actually daydreaming at the studio of some possibilities.  Do you love to cook as a couple or as a family, maybe baking that perfect pie?   Do you take an annual camping/fishing trip and enjoy sitting around the campfire? Or just every day family activities.  Possibilities are endless and the memories are priceless. These are the perfect family moments.
